Hës-vèkê Bî (/kiˈbohɘ/ /ˈvèkɘ/ [cute] [stew; soup; broth]) is a temperate Town located in the Jajëhifitë Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Hës-vèkê Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Hës-vèkê Bî was founded by Tshêj Bregèqtco, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Hës-vèkê Bî has a yearly average temperature of 23°C (73°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 18°C (64°F). Hës-vèkê Bî receives an average of 244 cm/y (96 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Hës-vèkê Bî covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 2194 m (7198 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Hës-vèkê Bî was founded durring the late 13th century in winter of the year 1187, by Tshêj Bregèqtco. The establishment of Hës-vèkê Bî was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Hës-vèkê Bî's construction back out of the project. Tshêj Bregèqtco pushed on reguardles, and Hës-vèkê Bî was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Hës-vèkê Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Hës-vèkê Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Hës-vèkê Bî is buildings are arranged arround a network of broad paverstone streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town lacks any defencive features, though certainly constructing even a simple fence or digging a ditch is at the forefront of the 's mind. At least, one would hope so.

Hës-vèkê Bî is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the town like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife. There’s a patern to the panic. It’s not easy to see, and no one quite agrees on what it is, but the locals know and operate under this pattern. It shapes everything they do, and you feel as if you’ve almost worked it out only for some small detail to devastate your theory every time you try and comprehend it.

Cultural Notes

Hës-vèkê Bî's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.

Hës-vèkê Bî used to be more prosperous, but something happened relatively long ago that left it a shrunken shadow of its former self. If the settlement is prosperous, the locals often lament how much more they could have had. If the settlement is not prosperous, the locals blame their ill fortunes on that event. Reminders of this better time can be found in many places within Hës-vèkê Bî.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century a local hero by the name of spared the town from the rampage of a legendary monster. One of Hës-vèkê Bî's festivals remembers the hero.
